Hello, London!

Salam and hey everyone!

So I'm back. I know it's been awhile since my last posting. I was literally busy preparing myself, all the important stuffs for my departure to the UK. I promised myself to write a post before flying off to UK but I failed to do so. I was too busy even at the very last minutes. So here I am, writing this while eating Maggi Tom Yam in my room at Brunel University London.

I've been here for two days now, safely landed at Heathrow Airport on the 14th of September 2016, 0710 hours UK time GMT +1 (daylight saving). I flew here together with a friend of mine from KMS who's going to further his studies in Oxford Brookes. We took off from Malaysia on the 13th of September, 2055 hours Malaysia time GMT +8 and had our transit at Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok. We were there for three hours and then directly flew to London at 0110 hours Thailand's time GMT +7.

We had our transit at Bangkok because we took Thai Airways. The flight to Bangkok was okay. I had trouble during my flight to London apparently. I was feeling so uncomfortable (it was a bloody 12 hours journey!). The flight was sooooo long and I was mentally, emotionally and physically drained. Upon my arrival in London, the Director of MARA London picked us up and drop us to the Malaysian Hall as he was rushing to a meeting and didn't have much time left to send me off to Brunel.

I was told that seniors from Brunel would pick me up, but wasn't been informed when. I literally had to wait for like more than 5 hours at Malaysian Hall in order for them to fetch me. Luckily Din was there, so we went for a walk at the town there, bought sim cards for ourselves and finally managed to update my family and friends back in Malaysia. Being tired myself, I lost the appetite to eat for lunch. It was not because of I was being excited or what it just that I was too exhausted that all I could ever think of was the bed in my accommodation room - I really wanted to get a really goooooooood sleep.

The seniors picked me up in late evening. I was suffering from motion sickness (it got worse with an empty stomach) so I didn't talk much in the car but they were friendly though. Feels sorry to them but what could I do. Turned out the car that they used to fetch me was a rented car and the due was up so instead of driving me to Brunel, they stopped at some other place to switch cars. We even had to wait at a lobby of a building which I didn't even know what that place was as one of them got to meet someone there. Hence, another minutes of torture. Hahaha *gelak nak sedapkan hati

After we switched the car, they then sent me off to my accommodation room at Brunel. One of them had actually stayed there before so they helped me in getting the keys from the security office and then showed me the way to the accommodation hall. They helped lifting my luggage up into my room. I tell you, my luggage was soooooo heavy that I was really impressed seeing those guys could just lifted the luggage without any help. Tak tahulah kalau depa control macho ke apa kan tapi terel kot hahahahaha. I am eternally grateful for that. Kalau aku balik sendiri dari awal pagi lagi, memanglah aku sampai Brunel awal tapi bayangkanlah macam mana aku nak angkat barang-barang aku yang berat gedabak tu. Bilik pulak tingkat atas sekali. Hahaha. Well, everything happened for a reason. Alhamdulillah.

So I met my floormate, Lisa. She's a Nigerian and apparently she's taking Occupational Therapy! We were excited to know that we're going to learn at the same department. I'm taking Physiotherapy by the way. We were the only ones at our block, since many will be arriving on this Sunday. I came here early because I'm joining the International Orientation.

So today was the first day of the orientation. And guess what I met two other Malaysians here! One's doing undergraduate and another one's doing postgraduate. What's cooler is both of them are taking Creative Writing! We also made friends with those from Hong Kong, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Indonesia and many more! It was really exciting meeting them here. Everyone was so friendly! But wait......there's a funny story that I'm going to spurt out now.

We were supposed to have an Uxbridge Walk Tour this evening. Suddenly it started to rain, Not that heavy really. Being reminded of one of the speaker's words this morning "London has like four seasons in a day. It can be very hot and it can also rain suddenly. If you're planning to go to Central London and it's raining, don't cancel your plan, or otherwise you're not going to be there forever". Hahahahaha. So we continued walking eventhough it was raining (it was light though). After 10 minutes of walking, the rain started to pour down heavily and everyone was soaked and drenched in the rain, even me myself! We stopped under a tree but to no avail. Semua dah basah kuyup. Like basah segalanya. So me and a few of my friends decided to go back to the university. I went directly to my hall and to my room only to find out later that the rain had stopped. But really, would I really go to the town with me being soaked in the rain? Hahahahahahahaha. Never. Jangan buat malu please.

So because of the unexpected turned of event, we had free time in the evening. I skipped tonight's event because I am still tired. So I am chilling right now and hence, a new post is up! I think that's all for now. Will update more soon! Tunggu ya~

Salam.
